Formed in 2016, Green Park Groundcare works with a number of corporate and public sector customers throughout East Anglia and London, offering an array of services including steep bank mowing, vegetation clearance, tree and forestry work and hedge and highway verge mowing. The West Haddon-based company decided to purchase the Terratrac 211+ from Aebi dealer, Listers of Reading, after unfavourably trialling several competitors’ machines, to handle, amongst others, a large Environment Agency vegetation-clearing contract.
Equipped to cover every eventuality
Arriving in May this year, the Terratrac has since chalked up over 600 hours of work in a little over four months, operating eight hours a day, six days a week. It has been fitted with a two metre Teagle flail, which has been the perfect size for transporting the machine, and it has proved ideal for cutting higher, denser grass and vegetation, often in tricky and steep locations, such as flood defences and river and drain banks. The 2.5 tonne Terratrac 211+ features a lightweight, broad design with a low centre of gravity and four steering modes: front, rear, all wheel or crab steering to cover every eventuality. Meanwhile, identically-sized Terra tyres all around, make it thoroughly at home on any sloping terrain.
Versatility that boosts capacity
Green Park Groundcare managing director, Trevor Tack, said: “The Terratrac has been vital in allowing us to tackle this summer’s huge workload.” Son James Tack added: “We wanted one machine to do both simple and complex jobs and the Terratrac carries out a multitude of tasks very well. It has definitely given us greater flexibility and boosted our capacity.” Trevor Tack said the machine has also been backed by ‘excellent support’ from the manufacturer and supplying dealer. “Whenever we’ve had an issue, both the factory in Peterborough and the dealer have always been very responsive,” he added. Aebi Schmidt UK sales manager, Matthew Elderkin, said: “We have upgraded the Terratrac 211+ with a heavier gvw which means it can take larger attachments than before, an uprated performance, plus an enhanced hydraulic system and better lighting with LED lights for both front driving lights and working lights. “That makes it very versatile and capable of handling a variety of steep terrains and conditions. It is now more than capable of handling a heavy and continuous workload. And so, it’s great to see Green Park Groundcare getting the maximum return on their investment,” he added.
