From Guesswork to Precision: How Sensor Technology Transforms Sweeping

Have you ever wondered how often a sweeper makes unnecessary trips to empty its hopper? How much time and resources are wasted in the process? The answer is: more often than necessary. But it doesn't have to be that way! With the innovative hopper level sensor from Aebi Schmidt, you can maintain full oversight and optimise your sweeping operations for the long term.

The New EL+ Enters the Pavement Marking Mix

The EL+ (pronounced E-L-Plus) is an exciting new member to MB Pavement Marking Equipment’s robust family of striping solutions. Much like the development of any new product, the EL+ was engineered and built with an eye toward production speed, simplified function, and (most importantly) meeting customer needs. The EL+ is a perfect fit for contractors and municipalities that want a standardized paint striping truck that gets the job done.

How to gain market share?

In the past financial year, the Aebi Schmidt Group’s turnover exceeded one billion euros for the first time in its history. In addition, we have gained market share, which is mainly triggered by the team performance of our individual local sales and service organisations. At the beginning of the year, the heads of the teams shared their experiences, including a visit at Ladog in Zell am Harmersbach (Germany), to see which products and solutions we can use to serve our customers even better in the future.

Justin Labrosse, Aebi Schmidt Canada

Justin Labrosse, the Procurement Manager in St-André-Avellin, discussed some of the exciting changes taking place at Aebi Schmidt Canada since he arrived in August 2023. A graduate of the Université de Sherbrooke, Labrosse began his career at an agri-food company, where he spent five years as a buyer and store manager. Procurement was a major part of his role, and managing inventory was a delicate balancing act, especially with the added challenge of food expiration. It was a natural step for him to transition into his current role.  During Labrosse’s time with Aebi Schmidt Canada, two important systems have been implemented to dramatically reduce stored inventory. “It’s all about space,” Labrosse says. “The less room taken up by parts sitting idle, the easier it is to manage our inventory and invoicing. Over time, we've developed new, more efficient ways of working, and we continue to push for reducing inventory to a 90-day turnover.”  When he first arrived at Aebi Schmidt Canada, Labrosse said, “It was a challenge to manage tight and fair inventory levels. During the global pandemic, minimum and maximum inventory requirements changed considerably. Responding to those changes and keeping customers happy meant there was a huge amount of unused or over-ordered inventory.”  The time we were struggling with our inventory levels and the added chaos caused by the pandemic. We knew it wouldn’t be an easy task to restore smooth operations and could take several weeks, if not months, to fully grasp and address. However, in less than a month, we could already see Justin gaining control and making positive headway.”  Although originally from Ottawa, Labrosse grew up on his family’s beef cattle farm in St-André-Avellin. He and his girlfriend share a home with their young daughter and two Boston Terriers. Labrosse continues to be passionate about hockey and hits the ice several times a week.
