They’re stolen and stripped of the precious metals inside, including platinum, palladium, and rhodium, which can then be sold for high prices. Not only are catalytic converters incredibly expensive to replace and astonishingly simple to steal – the whole process can be completed in less than two minutes! That’s why Monroe developed the Cat Cage. Instead of reacting after a catalytic converter has been stolen, costing you time and money to replace, a bit of prevention can help deter that theft from even happening. The Cat Cage is a stainless-steel box that “cages” the catalytic converter, keeping it safe. It features tamper-resistant fasteners and can easily install on an existing truck frame using OEM attachment points. Right now, our model is available for select Isuzu, Chevrolet, and Ford chassis, with plans to expand the design to accommodate more customers in the future.

This year alone, 8,600 units were sold – that’s a lot of catalytic converters now safe from theft! There’s no end in sight, however. We’re looking at completing another 700 orders as we ship more of these units to all our locations across the country.
