Handling Ten Tons Single-Handedly

Even the best functions of a machine are useless if they cannot be controlled at the crucial moment. This is why the handling - the interface between man and machine - has always been a high priority at Aebi. Our operating concept is the result of decades of optimisation. It is best explained in the tidy cockpit of the Aebi TP 470 Vario.

Working on steep terrain leaves no time for searching for switches and buttons. Steering modes, differential locks and the functions of the attachments must be operated without losing sight of the working environment. This is exactly what the operating concept of the Aebi Terratracs and Transporters makes possible. It combines proven Aebi elements, such as our control lever, with state-of-the-art digital technology.

 Intuitive, comprehensible and cross-machine

The 12-inch touch display in the TP 470 Vario opens up new possibilities and makes daily work easier. And yet the screen remains untouched during use. All settings are made on the display before driving, and it then serves as a source of information during operation. It is controlled via the tried-and-tested control lever and its buttons. Everything with just one hand.

The control lever and the display work closely together. The colour concept of the buttons on the control lever is also reflected in the colour display. And for experienced drivers of Aebi machines, the joystick is likely to evoke familiar feelings. The joystick in its current form has also been used in our Terratracks for years.

The operating lever adapts to the application

The buttons on the control lever can be freely programmed to a large extent. In addition to two standard profiles for agricultural and municipal use, the display can be used to create further personalised profiles for hay harvesting, working with the muck tedder or for winter service. By preselecting the right profile, the control lever always controls exactly what you need for the upcoming job.

Individual profiles can also be created for different users. This is because everyone has their own personal preferences as to which functions they want to access at the touch of a button.

Couplings, because nobody likes repetition

The pre-programmable couplings are a clever way to save time. The function, also known as headland management, combines individual actions, such as raising the front linkage and switching off the PTO, into a sequence. Need an example?

  1. When mowing with the Terratrac, raise the front mower at the end of the meadow. The programmed coupling switches off the PTO drive, automatically raises the conditioner at the rear (at the same time or with the desired delay) and switches to all-wheel steering for the tightest possible turn. The same applies in reverse when lowering the mower.
  2. You engage reverse gear with the plough and spreader on the transporter during winter service. The plough lifts automatically and the spreader interrupts spreading.

The automatic processes save countless operating procedures throughout the year. And it not only saves time, but also helps you to focus on the actual work and work safety.

Maximum control with minimal operating elements

Aebi has a very comprehensive, yet intuitive and clear operating concept. It ultimately leads to tidy cockpits that require only a few buttons in addition to the control lever. The operating concept puts the power of the Aebi machines in the hands of their drivers - and they not only move the 10 tonnes of permissible total weight of the TP 470 Vario, but also a whole lot on their farms.
