Our driver assistance systems for airports aim to improve operational efficiency and safety in airport environments. They support the driver with information on driving behaviour as well as machine positions and machine settings. This not only ensures greater safety, efficiency and fuel economy, but also greater flexibility in personnel planning.

Automated and autonomous systems lead to substantial performance improvement, cost savings, increased flexibility and, above all, greater levels of safety. An integrated system enables flexible deployment, improved security of staff as well as decreased training efforts and costs. Automated clearing decreases operational risks and damage as well as offering improved fuel efficiency and environmentally friendlier operations.

Automation has become an integral part of our everyday life. However, the use of automated and autonomous systems, especially on the airfield, cannot be co-ordinated with a standardised universal solution. That’s why we offer a step by step approach which allows to consider and implement specific conditions and requirements. Your system will be mapped to your current processes in order to find the optimal efficiency levels.

When it comes to autonomous driving, we’re working in co-operation with CPAC Systems, part of the Volvo Group, to develop and refine the three-step approach further. CPAC is passionate when it comes to technology-driven business development and its track record goes back to 2003 when it launched the first enabling platform. We’re also proud to co-operate with Lab1886, the business innovation unit of Mercedes-Benz AG, and with Daimler Truck AG in the area of automated snow removal, one of many applications of Mercedes’ AXYARD technology. We have successfully concluded project "Smart Fleet", a joint project between Stuttgart Airport, the Aebi Schmidt Group and Volk Fahrzeugbau, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. The result of the project which aimed to develop fully automated vehicle prototypes and to test them in real time conditions on run-ways, aprons and taxiways was presented to interested parties and the media in September 2022. It included a further milestone in technology development as we could present the integrated control of truck and jet sweeper.

The demand for training is typically very high, especially at airports. Practical training is a major expense for many airports where it is common practice to cover fluctuating traffic volumes with temporary staff. But this is only possible if these temporary workers are well trained. In such situations, our training simulator can be an ideal supplement to our normal training courses. The simulator provides selectable scenarios and weather conditions and does not consume fuel nor run the risk of machine damage. The quality of the training always remains constant and can be multiplied at will.
