On the Trail of a Very Special Terratrac

At the Raffalthof farm in Terenten, South Tyrol, stands an Aebi TT 281+ with a unique story — the 15,000th Terratrac to leave our factory in Burgdorf. Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming the owners of this milestone vehicle, Michael and Brigitte Schmid.

Almost three years ago, shortly after the delivery of their new Terratrac, we visited the Schmid family at their farm. The 15,000th model is their third Aebi Terratrac. Now, Michael and Brigitte Schmid, together with their long-time Aebi dealer, Christian Malfertheiner, accepted our invitation—linked to the delivery of this special vehicle—and visited us in Burgdorf.

Technology Meets Experience and Passion

At the Terratrac production line, Michael Schmid witnessed the precision and care that go into manufacturing our vehicles. He was particularly interested in direct discussions with our experts about technical innovations and future models.

"I was impressed by the well-thought-out design and meticulous production process," said Michael Schmid. "You can tell that every single component is carefully planned and crafted. The workflows are efficient, and there is a wealth of experience behind them." Brigitte Schmid added: "You could really feel the enthusiasm of the employees for their work. It’s clear that they are proud of what they do and stand fully behind the machines they build."

A Memorable Experience for Both Sides

This visit demonstrated one thing: Aebi brings people together—not just through the machines but also through the individuals who develop, manufacture, and operate them. The exchange with the Schmid family was enriching for both sides, and who knows—perhaps one day, a fourth Terratrac will make its way to Raffalthof.
