On the road to net zero, you better think of more than just the electric drive!

As part of the EUnited lecture program at this year's IFAT in Munich, the Aebi Schmidt Group explained to the interested audience which approaches may be used to achieve the ambitious emission targets set in many places both more efficiently and more sustainably. Both presentations had one perhaps astonishing conclusion in common: a holistic approach is not only more efficient, but also cheaper!

At IFAT in Munich, EUnited, the European Engineering Industries Association, traditionally invites interested members of the public to attend specialist presentations that shed light on various aspects that go beyond the classic product demonstrations at the trade show stands. Yesterday and today, selected industry representatives spoke on the topics of "Environmentally friendly and sustainable municipal equipment" and "How to make municipal systems more efficient".

Aebi Schmidt’s first presentation was titled "On the way to net zero: How to achieve your emissions target sustainably and with more than just an alternative drive!" and shed five levers beyond the electric drive that contribute to the efficient achievement of targets. A clever choice of technologies used in a fleet and the use of customised, digital solutions allow cities and municipalities to prepare for future challenges already today. The other presentation focussed on efficiency. Under the title "The whole is more than the sum of its parts: How a combination of digital and conventional technologies can significantly increase your efficiency!", it explores how the areas of technology, digitalisation and after sales can reduce time, increase operational reliability and, in particular, save costs.

From both perspectives, the advantages of remote diagnostics and the harmonisation of technology platforms play a key role. Our offerings in the area of refurbishment and remanufacturing of older machines also met with keen interest from the public. With these approaches, in line with the circular economy concept, machines can generally be used for another ten or more years. The saving in CO2 emissions compared to a new purchase is around 85%.

If you missed the presentations but would still like to find out more about the Aebi Schmidt Group's holistic approach, what you can expect from us in the future and what solutions we can offer you in the individual areas, then get in touch with the sales staff in your country or download the two presentations here. We look forward to hearing from you.
