Intelligent Sensor Technology for Maximum Efficiency
Until now, the fill level in the hopper was often estimated. Axle load sensors could detect when a certain weight was reached, but they couldn't determine the actual fill level – a significant drawback, especially when collecting light materials such as leaves. Aebi Schmidt's patented hopper level sensor changes that: using state-of-the-art radar technology, it measures the fill level precisely and in real time, regardless of the type or rather density of the debris. This prevents overfilling and unnecessary empty runs, ensuring you get the most out of your sweeper.
Sustainability Meets Efficiency
Efficiency doesn’t just save time; it also supports sustainability. Fewer empty runs mean lower fuel consumption, which in turn reduces CO₂ emissions. This not only benefits the environment but also helps municipalities and service providers cut costs. The hopper level sensor is therefore a valuable contribution to sustainable urban and area cleaning.
Easy to Integrate – Immediately Ready for Use
The sensor is currently used in the powerful Schmidt Street King 660 – one of the most efficient truck-mounted sweepers on the market. The driver receives real-time fill level data directly on the control panel in the cab, enabling seamless monitoring and control. This optimises work performance while preventing unnecessary interruptions caused by inaccurate level estimates.
But technology is evolving: soon, the sensor will be available in more models. Thanks to fully automated measurement during sweeping operations, drivers always remain in full control – with zero additional effort.
