One of the tasks of the Danish Vejdirektoratet (comparable to the road traffic authority) is the winter service on important connecting roads throughout Denmark. Since this season, the 66 Schmidt gritting vehicles from the Vejdirektoratet are operating with IntelliOPS Winter Service once again. After a re-evaluation, during which there was also a regular exchange with Aebi Schmidt Denmark and the responsible product manager at the Aebi Schmidt Group, the advantages of the system are convincing.
Efficiency that pays off
With the use of IntelliOPS, a reduction of about 5% of dry salt per vehicle is predicted for the road sections which have to be covered by the Vejdirektoratet during the winter season. Extrapolated to the 66 vehicles, that's about 3,000 tonnes less salt per season! But it's not just the environmental impact that is reduced: at current prices per ton, this results in a budget saving of 250,000 Euro.
