Motor

The turbo-diesel engine delivers a powerful 80 kW (109 hp), has a torque of 420 Nm between 1,100 rpm and 1,400 rpm and a torque rise of 43%. The engine fulfils emission level V and Euro 6C and is exceptionally kind to the environment thanks to a particulate filter and SCR. The powerfully designed structure of the drive train allows the TP 420 to make full use of the turbo-diesel engine’s enormous torque.

Driving characteristics

Chassis

The chassis of the TP 420 is available in two different versions - full suspension or front suspension only. The suspension travel of both axles is a remarkable 100 mm and, in conjunction with the modern double wishbone design, offers unrivalled driving comfort in the sector.

Gear shift

Gear shifts are effortless and precise. The reverse transmission with four gears, half-gear and two groups offers 16 forward and 16 reverse gears. Speed and half-gear can be pre-selected and shifted electrohydraulically.

Speed

Depending on the country, there are different speed options to choose from: 40km/h, (25mph), 45km/h (28mph) and 50 km/h (31mph).

Getting to grips with all wheels

Permanent all-wheel drive via longitudinal differential with 50/50 torque distribution. Longitudinal and axle differentials front and rear are 100% lockable and are electro-hydraulically activated as standard. When the vehicle is switched off, the longitudinal differential is automatically locked and the parking brake takes effect on the front and rear axle via the Cardan shaft.

Workplace

The vehicle is operated conveniently from the driver's seat with logically arranged switches and the intuitive and centrally mounted joystick. The modern display unit always provides the driver with the most important information. Even outside the cab, the driver always has a clear view of everything, thanks to the work lights fitted as standard. The heating and air-conditioning system ensures pleasant temperatures and fog-free windows. The wide opening doors allow easy and safe access to the driver's seat.

Hydraulics

The perfectly positioned hydraulic connections are located at the optimum height for coupling and uncoupling. In addition to these connections, the plug-in couplings can also be fitted at the front, further increasing the versatility of the transporter.

Agriculture

Versatility increases economic operation

The TP 420 can be used in a variety of ways. The attachments and superstructure equipment can be changed quickly and without great effort, while the variety of equipment enables applications at any time of the year. The transporter is better utilised through worthwhile inter-company assignments to increase long term profitability.

The TP 420 is ideally suited to forage harvesting, while the solid construction,  easy-grip all-wheel drive and the low effort required for mounting the attachments are strong arguments for using it in winter as well.

Mounted and semi-mounted implements:

  • Multi-blade ploughs e.g. Schmidt MPC, SNK or Tarron Compact
  • Spreaders e.g. Schmidt Stratos, Schmidt Syntos

Municipal service

Summer service

  • Irrigation technology: Water tank and front spray bar allow the cleaning or dust control of contaminated roads and surfaces.

Winter maintenance

The TP 420 is robustly built, powerful and manoeuvrable, and therefore ideally suited for use against snow and black ice. The four-wheel drive ensures excellent traction and, in combination with the powerful engines, effortless clearing of large quantities of snow.

Mounted and semi-mounted implements:

  • Multi-blade ploughs e.g. Schmidt MPC, SNK or Tarron Compact
  • Spreaders e.g. Schmidt Stratos, Schmidt Syntos

Construction Industry

Where space is at a premium, such as construction sites or narrow inner-city streets, the activated all-wheel steering system can reach even seemingly inaccessible angles. In addition, the high payload of the Aebi TP 420 offers a big plus.

Mounted and semi-mounted implements:

  • Three-way tipper
  • Hook lift
  • Skip loader
  • Cranes

Special tasks

  • Disposal: A waste disposal superstructure or skip ensures waste disposal in smaller communities in mountainous regions even in poor driving conditions.
  • Sewer cleaning: Sludge extraction, flushing of sewers and many other applications are made possible by the special sewer cleaning structure.
  • Construction of power lines: The possibility of mounting double wheels all around the vehicle brings obvious advantages when constructing or maintaining overhead power lines in rough terrain. The TP 420 is suitably equipped for use on slopes, at the same time protecting the soil and climbing to even the most difficult places.
