Vehicle design and technology
The VKS can be mounted both in front and behind the carrier vehicle. It is open to the front and designed without a dirt box to optimise its performance. Height-adjustable wheels ensure the correct and individual broom support pressure. The VKS has a strongly-dimensioned swivel joint for absorbing and transmitting operational forces, and an integrated three-point stop system. A liftable dirt collection flap, with additional dirt collection cloth, prevents light or coarse swept material from being accidentally thrown away, even at high performance.
Depending on the model, the VKS is available with different roller lengths and with brush material for various applications: VKS 22 (2200 mm), VKS 24 (2400 mm) and VKS 26 (2600 mm). The VKS 22, VKS 24 and VKS 26 have a central support frame made of torsion-resistant square tubing.
The VKS cleans large areas of even coarse dirt quickly and easily, using bristles made of high-quality polypropylene or corrugated wire.
Water system
A spray unit with water nozzles ensures dust-free sweeping. The required water can be drawn directly from the tank on the VKS or pumped from a water tank on the carrier vehicle.
Lifting system
The lifting system integrated in the machine enhances its user-friendliness, while there are infinite directional adjustements - left, right or forward.
Drive
The VKS is driven either by the PTO (Power Take-Off) shaft or the vehicle hydraulics. The hydraulic motor for the sweeper roller drive is located inside the sweeper roller, so that no parts protrude. Due to this compact design, the operator has an unobstructed view of his equipment. As a result, the VKS achieves excellent results when working directly on industrial or house walls, as no components protrude to the sides.
Year-round use
Due to its design, the VKS series is not only suitable for cleaning work in summer, but its different sets of brushes make it ideal for winter use as well. And, with its special whisk, it keeps surfaces with a light covering snow-free.
Use at airports
The VKS-H is a solution for year-round cleaning of aprons and taxiways at airports. It is suitable for heavy loads and tough sweeping operations, like cleaning coarse dirt from operational areas. It is perfect for front-mounting on both medium and heavy carrier vehicles and fits very well with the AS 990 airport sweeper. The operating surfaces are cleaned with a sweeping width of 3,150 mm at an angle of 24°. The swivel joint allows infinitely variable adjustment of the sweeping roller from 0° to 24° (left and right) during sweeping operations.
