Meyer Dealer Lights Up Small California Mountain Town

The small town of Running Springs sits in the California San Bernardino mountains. With a population of just over 5,000, the community is known as the gateway to larger mountain communities or Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead, and Arrowbear, with service-related businesses catering to the passing through tourists.

Enter Brandon Neldner, a snowplow dealer in Running Springs, who wanted to see his town transformed into more of its own destination, rather than just a cut-through to other communities. He wanted Running Springs to have a festive holiday vibe that would improve the community spirit, as well as attract more spending in the business district.

Partnering with the Running Springs Area Chamber of Commerce, Brandon volunteered to organize the effort to light up the town. The Chamber garnered donations from local businesses and individuals and Brandon went to work with the business owners to put up their lights and holiday decorations.

“There hasn’t been lights in Running Springs for at least the last 10 or 15 years,” Brandon said. “It makes me so happy to bring life back to the town that I love. I’m looking forward to growing this initiative for years to come,” he added.

The town is thankful to Brandon and his volunteer team for investing his time and personal money into this project. He will continue fundraising in order to put up more lights and decorations next year. His goal is to light up as much of the mountain community as possible. The holiday spirit is alive and well in Running Springs, thanks to Brandon.
